COVID-19 Resources for Businesses and Non-profits

COVID-19 (coronavirus) has and continues to cause major challenges to businesses, people, and organizations around the world. Here are some helpful resources to help you navigate the new terrain.

Federal

National Council of Nonprofits, Loans Available in CARES Act. The National Council of Nonprofits has put together a chart showing what loans are available to nonprofits as part of the CARES Act.

NCFP, National Center for Family Philanthropy, Resource Map. The NCFP has a map with links to local philanthropic sources. Zoom in using the + to see links to groups in your area.

SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Provides loans of up to $10M available to small businesses and non-profits. Loans are forgivable to the extent they are used within eight weeks for payroll, healthcare expenses, mortgage interest and rent.

SBA COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Program Provides small businesses and non-profits with loans up to $2M to help temporary loss of revenue.

SBA Emergency Grants (Loan Advance) Grants of up to $10K are available to small businesses to cover immediate operating costs.

SBA Express Bridge Loans (EBL) Pilot Program Through participating SBA Express Lenders, small businesses can access expedited SBA-guaranteed bridge loan or term loan financing up to $25K.

Federal Payroll Tax Credits Through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, eligible employers can take advantage of refundable tax credits to offset the costs of newly authorized paid sick leave and childcare leave benefits.

Florida and Palm Beach County

COVID-19 Grants in Palm Beach County The COVID-19 Response Fund will strategically deploy resources to community-based organizations that are working with communities disproportionately impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan. Small business owners with two to 100 employees located in Florida affected by COVID-19 can apply for short-term loans up to $50K.

Florida Housing Finance Corporation COVID-19 Information and Resources.  Florida Housing is committed to the health and well-being of all Floridians and has assembled a list of resources.

Private

Emergency Small Business Relief Loan Fund Provides loans to small businesses with 50 or fewer employees that can demonstrate at least a 25% decrease in sales due to COVID-19. Eligible companies must be based in specific neighborhoods of Manhattan, Queens, or Brooklyn.

Facebook Small Business Grants Program offers $100M in cash grants and credits for Facebook advertisements for up to 30,000 eligible small businesses worldwide.

Food and Beverage Industry Relief Fund Provides emergency funding to restaurant/bar owners and their employees.

Verizon-LISC Small Business Recovery Fund LISC will provide grants of up to $10K to businesses facing immediate financial pressure because of COVID-19—especially entrepreneurs of color, women-owned businesses, and other enterprises in historically underserved communities.

Here are ways Anyone can help during this crisis:

  • Donate masks, gowns, and gloves, which are in short supply for doctors and nurses, to your local hospital or first responders.
  • Help your local Food Bank meet the increased need
  • Donate to Citymeals on Wheels to help your elderly neighbors in need
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest CDC news alerts on COVID-19
  • Help your local Community Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund. These funds are giving immediate relief to your local community. South Florida’s population has been hit hard by the pandemic.
